Emanuel Alloa
Philosopher. He studied philosophy, history, art history and aesthetics in Freiburg, Padova and Berlin. In 2005, he completed a Masters at the Sorbonne University in Paris on Maurice Merleau-Ponty (to be published soon as: La résistance du sensible, Milan: Mimesis, 2006). As an assistant lecturer at the Arts Department of Paris VIII- Saint Denis, he teaches theory of art and the history of images. He is currently preparing a PhD at the Freie Universität of Berlin on the philosophy of the material image. Major research fields: phenomenology, philosophy of the body, aesthetics, media theory. Since 2002 he has directed the virtual magazine ATOPIA (www.atopia.tk).
